The one where we said goodbye

Sorry it has been a while since I have written a weekly! It's been really busy here in the Ridgepoint area. And last week we were playing sports pretty early in the morning before it got too hot to do anything. It's really hot and humid here in Kansas. It ranges from 90-102 each week with 100% humidity. Not fun:(

Two weeks ago we had zone conference and interviews. It was the last time that I will see President and Sister Ernst. It was really sad. But they won't live far from me so I will see them soon enough. We welcome President Barr this coming Wednesday. And President and Sister Ernst will leave.

Zone conference we talked about a divine reset and that we need to follow what President Barr says. Because he was called to do this great work. Even if it's different, we will say "I will go and do." I'm super excited for this change.

This past week was rough. We found 4 people but none of them live in our area. One of our friends dropped off the face of the earth and we can't get ahold of her. But we put our friend Destinee on date for the end of July! I am so excited for her!! I love her so much!

The one where I almost melted to the surface of the earth

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a good week last week. We had a very busy week. I'm not even sure what happened. I'll recap it the best I can.

My companions and I had to give the training at our district council meeting about how to become a master teacher. I liked giving the training. It went well!

I was called on Wednesday to speak in Sacrament meeting. This may come as a shock to a lot of you, but I don't like public speaking. My dad always tells me that it's like being on stage. Well it's not. I was still terrified. But I think it went well!

Our friend Denae and Destinee came to church this week! It was a last minute miracle because they were both late. I was sitting on the stand and I was looking for our friends and I couldn't see them. But they both walked in at the same time. Yayy!!

It is REALLY HOT here in Kansas. We have not entered the 100's here. But once you hit like 90, it feels the same. I feel like I'm melting to the surface of the sun. Not to be dramatic or anything ðŸ˜‚

We have zone conference this week and then our new mission president comes in 2 weeks! Crazy! I'm excited for this change. And I don't do well with change so that says something. It's a divine reset for the entire mission. It's a wonderful opportunity.

I got pictures this week! Yayy! I repented and got a lot this week. Love yall! Have a good week!

The one where they were Quarantined

Hey everyone! I hope you had an amazing week. Summer is upon us! And it's getting hot here in Kansas. I don't really do well with humidity. But the Lord blessed us with rain this week.

Also it's cousin's first day of online MTC. Elder Sayer, you are going to bless those in Ohio and I am so excited for you!

The work this week was so fun! We met our finding goal in the first day of the week. And we had to adjust it. So we doubled it and we found 7/8 people. It was really fun talking to everyone even though we were in Quarantine. The blessings of technology.

We only got one of our friends to church, but we have three friends on date to be baptised. Everyone pray for Brent, Caroldine and Lori! They need all of the prayers that they can get.

I had an experience this week that was incredible and I want to share it with you. Some of you may not read these emails, but that's okay if you don't. But if you are reading, God is aware of you and he will use you to perform his work in his way and in his timing.

We had a less active join a lesson with a recent converts this week. The less active has been going going a lot of issues with her marriage and mental health. She came to church yesterday for the first time in 6 months. All because we asked her to join a lesson with this recent convert who has really been struggling. I hage found that on my mission that I am good at finding less actives. And a lot of time, I do it by accident. But I know it's not not accident. It's God putting these people in my path. This is not the first time this has happened on my mission.

The one where I now live on Ellis Street

Hello everyone! This week was kinda crazy! You will never guess what happened. Unless you follow me on Facebook, then I guess you already know...

I did get transferred. Leaving Park Hill was really really hard. I love the ward and I have so many good and close relationships with the members that I hope will last a lifetime. I have pictures of some of that at the bottom of the email. Leaving the Ozbun's and Susan was probably the hardest. But I live close to some of the Ozbun's extended family so I will still be able to see them.

I am still in Derby! I got transferred one area over from Park Hill. So I didn't move very far. And.....I am in my 3RD trio!!!!!! How fun!! I guess I'm just really good with trios I guess. I have no clue why President Ernst just keeps putting me in them. But I am with Sister Wall and Sister Elam. And I am already learning so much. The Ridgepoint area is so elect and a lot has already happened in these past couple of days:)

We found quite a few people this week. More than I am used to haha. We found Mark and Matthew and Angela! We found Mark and Matthew we found while we were  inspired knocking. And Angela we found over Facebook. Her lesson was amazing and she said that she has been searching for something more in her life. She felt like we were an answer to her prayers. It was really good!

I have never been more tired in my life than I am right now. It's just go go go all day long. And we get home at night and I just crash. But we are quarantined this week because Sister elam is sick and we have a lot of covid cases going on right now. Covid strikes back!!! So this week is gonna be fun...

The one where I have been on my mission for 9 months

So sorry I have not emailed in a while. It has been insane these past couple of weeks. I have found out that I am getting transferred. I have been in the park hill ward for the past 6 months. I am so sad to leave this ward and the friends I am teaching but I am excited for a change and for the new adventure that is ahead of me.

I have no clue where I am going and I have no clue who my companion will be. I will have to let all of you know next week. I am so excited for Wednesday! I am very anxious but excited!! Transfers are an exciting time. But I have been out for 9 months!!! That is literally so crazy to me. I can't believe that I am halfway done with my mission. I feel like I have been here for a week.

This week we found 2 people over facebook. It was really fun to teach them and they are already reading the Book of mormon. Exciting!!! While we were out, we came across a few people that we had taught previously. It was good to catch up with them and see how they are doing.

Our friends Susan and Rick are not getting baptised tomorrow:( We are really sad about it, but they aren't ready for it yet. They will be though, I know it!

The one where it became REALLY hot in Kansas

I hope you are all doing well. This week flew by super fast and honestly, I don't remember most of it. We had a lot of lessons with our friends. Susan and Rick are still planning on being baptised but the date got moved to Monday May 23. Baptism on Pday!!! I am so excited!

Susan has been wanting us to teach her whole family. We are getting there slowly but surely. We found her daughter this week. Her name is Kayla! She loved the message of the Restoration and Joseph Smith and just wanted to get her hands on a Book of Mormon.

We are doing service for a lot of military mom's in our ward. We helped a member who making her own outfits for her kids. It is really fun!

I promise this week was busy. I just don't remember most of it. I did see a frog on a doorstep this week. I thought it was dead. But it definitely was not. I may or may not have screamed.

The one where I saw my first tornado

Well folks! The title says it all. We had a tornado on Friday! Here is the story.

Sister Meyring and I were in the furthest town away from our apartment. We got a phone call from our district leader saying to return home immediately. Now keep in mind, the sky was blue and not a cloud in sight. So we thought we were in danger or in some kind of trouble. But our mission president sent a message in our zone group chat that we were under a tornado watch and that we needed to be home. We took the 30 minute drive and made it home. A few hours later we were in a lesson with a member. In the middle of the lesson, we get the message that we need shelter immediately. We hung up the phone and headed to the shelter. Our whole district had the same shelter which was fun! The tornado hit my very first area in Andover. The damage was really bad. But the community is really stepping up and helping. Plenty of service opportunities! Please pray for those who had houses destroyed! It is really sad ðŸ˜”

This week was a week full of miracles. I love having a front row seat to see them all. Our friends Susan and Rick came to church and they are on date to be baptised on the 22 of this month. Everyone pray for Susan and Rick! I love them so much! Susan called us on Monday and told us that her cigarettes are starting to taste funny!!!! So she has cut back a lot since I first met her almost 6 months ago. God is so real and he loves you!! I was reminded of that this week.

We found Brandi and her daughter Gracie this week! They are a part member family. It was a really interesting lesson!

Another miracle was that we had a less active come to church this week with her husband and her daughter. We've been meeting with her since I got to this area and she hasn't come to church. She accepted our invitation after weeks of being invited. They all stayed for both hours of church. One of the pictures down below is them at church and I photo bombed it! Hope you enjoy that picture. It's kind of embarrassing but that's okay🤣
